As a storm moves out of the Rockies, the risk of violent thunderstorms, some capable of producing a tornado, will progress slowly eastward across the Plains Tuesday and Wednesday.

Severe Weather Next Week Texas to Kansas, Missouri

As a storm emerges from the Rockies Monday, severe thunderstorms are forecast to fire from Texas to Kansas and could cross the Mississippi River later next week.

BREAKING: NWS Broadens Hurricane Warning Definition

The National Weather Service announced today that, starting June 1, the definitions of hurricane and tropical storm watches and warnings will be broadened.

The new changes will allow watches and warnings to be issued or remain in effect after a tropical cyclone becomes post-tropical, when such a storm poses a significant threat to life and property.
