Punxsutawney Phil emerged from his burrow on Gobbler’s Knob early Saturday morning, Feb. 2, 2013, and did not see his shadow. His prognostication is that there will be an early spring.
AccuWeather long-range meteorologists agree that spring may arrive early for the Plains, where the core of warmth is expected to set up. This spring may rank as one of top-ten warmest on record for the U.S., AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Forecaster Paul Pastelok said.
However, Pastelok predicts that winter will last another six weeks in the Northeast and Northwest.
