Castform's Weather Report
To zeitvox, I’d like to answer the question you replied to our last post with. Watches and warnings are official terms used by weather alert services that are localized to a particular town/community/county/etc. A watch is to let people know that the conditions are prime for a severe storm or tornado. A warning means that an actual tornado has been seen on the ground. We word it “Heed all watches and warnings” because when either is issued for an area it’s crucial that people take it seriously and prepare to act upon their emergency plans. For more information on the difference between a watch and a warning you can read this article.
Hope that clears things up!
Tornado Risk Iowa to Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan
Thunderstorms this afternoon and Thursday night will bring the greatest potential for tornadoes in recent weeks and will target areas from central Iowa to parts of Wisconsin, Minnesota and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
**People in the risk area will need to keep an eye on the sky for rapidly changing weather conditions. Heed all watches and warnings and have a plan in place before the situation become dangerous.**
In preparation for Don’t Fry Day tomorrow, we’ve been putting together a lot of stories about sun safety. I know it’s the internet and all, but I’m still pretty amazed at how hard it is to find pictures that represent tanning without being bombarded by images of naked people.
Pretty sure there are people who sit near me who are really judging right about now.
